Mumbai and konkan have not experienced any rains since april 2016.Monsoon 2016 is just 20 days away from reaching maharashtra.So pre-monsoon rains are expected to begin from 23-24th may in parts of mumbai,raigad,ratnagiri and sindhudurg.Between 23may to 6th may many places in konkan may experience thundershowers.This may lead to humid and sultry conditions in that region.Moisture incursion from the arabian sea and north-easterly winds may lead to hot,humid conditions even though thundershowers are expected.A cluster of thunderstorms have started developing in arabian sea which shortly would affect maharashtra coast by 24th may.
