HEAVY RAINS LIKELY IN MUMBAI ,RAIGAD,THANE,AND RATNAGIRI FROM 9TH JUNE LASTING TILL 11TH JUNE.

According to the latest data available from the GFS and ECMWF  models,a low pressure area may form off the coast of mumbai on 7th june which would result in heavy showers across western coast of maharashtra.the rains might be accompanied by thunder and squall.

Monsoon onset over kerela on 4-5th june.

Much awaited monsoon will reach kerela on 4-5th june.This onset will be with a delay of error margin of 3+\- days.

Rains will soon reach Mumbai and konkan,probably by 24th may

Mumbai and konkan have not experienced any rains since april 2016.Monsoon 2016 is just 20 days away from reaching maharashtra.So pre-monsoon rains are expected to begin from 23-24th may in parts of mumbai,raigad,ratnagiri and sindhudurg.Between 23may to 6th may many places in konkan may experience thundershowers.This may lead to humid and sultry conditions in that region.Moisture incursion from the arabian sea and north-easterly winds may lead to hot,humid conditions even though thundershowers are expected.A cluster of thunderstorms have started developing in arabian sea which shortly would affect maharashtra coast by 24th may.

Depression to form in bay of bengal ,hit Tamilnadu.

Low pressure is to be formed on 14th may near srilanka and intensify into a depression and hit chennai on 17th may evening.This may result in torrential rain and floods in kerela ,karanataka,tamilnadu .

Arabian sea may throw out some storm later after 20th may which would usher southwest monsoon 2016 into western india earlier than normal.
Mumbai,goa ,konkan   may experience rainy days from 22nd may.

A LOW PRESSURE IS GOING TO BE FORMED NEAR SRILANKA  ON 14TH MAY WHICH WILL HEAD TOWARDS KARNATAKA AND FURTHER TRACK HAS TO BE MONITORED.THIS WOULD RESULT IN HEAVY TO VERY HEAVY RAINS OVER KARNATAKA AND KERALA ADJOINING  SRILANKA  FROM 15TH MAY TO 19TH MAY.GOA TOO CAN GET TORRENTIAL RAINS .LIGHT RAINS EXPECTED OVER MAHARASHTRA.
